Winding Down: End of Year
So the year is coming to a close, and what a bumpy ride it did turn out to be. But we’ve made it this far, and onwards to creative days ahead.
In the Autumn, I spent as much time as possible outdoors. I went on a foraging day, where I learned about all kinds of fungi and took in the small wonders on the field and forest floor. Stopping, pausing, and taking in the wobbly whims of nature has helped me build some self-acceptance in its own way.

As the weather turns dark and more unforgiving, I retreat inwards and begin resting before a busy new year ahead. My mind is whirring with new story ideas, and fresh enthusiasm for upcoming contracts.

I continue to be inspired by warm cranberry colours and messy textures. Exploring a softer approach to my artwork this season. I began developing new brushes to play with in the Procreate app, and I’ve recently been living in the Spooky Set section as I draw, scribble and find new joy in making artwork.
Often the process can become repetitive and feel a little stressful at times when there’s deadlines or expectations. I find my Procreate Sketchbook to be a happy place, where not all of my artwork has to look the same - there’s room for it all!
